This position is located in Region 6, on the Tiller Ranger District of the Umpqua National Forest in Tiller, Oregon.

The position serves as the primary administrative business process point of contact for the District and is responsible for the administrative oversight of various business processes and performs day-to-day technical and administrative work for the Ranger District.
This position is being concurrently announced under USDA Demonstration Project procedures (open to US Citizens) under announcement number 14-0615-39398G-HMc . The USDA Forest Service has legislative authority to recruit and fill Permanent (Career/Career-Conditional), Temporary, and Term Appointments under the USDA Demonstration Project. Under this authority, any U.S. citizen may apply.
USCITIZEN SSR US Citizenship is required. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
Serves as the Office Manager with responsibility for management of the overall administrative support functions and management services essential to the direction and operation of the Tiller Ranger District.
Performs or oversees a wide range of duties related to personnel assistance, correspondence management, office automation, acquisitions and procurement, logistics, budget support, collections, and supervision of other administrative, procurement and visitor services personnel in support of the District organization.
The position supervises two permanent employees and may supervise volunteers.

GS-7: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 grade level : Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Examples of specialized experience are : responsible for purchasing or contracting for supplies, equipment, and services. Performed general property management support services, such as maintenance and disposal of equipment and facilities work. Provided technical and administrative supervision to two or more subordinates. Planned the work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjusted short-term priorities, and prepared schedules for completion of work. Provided leadership and direction for functions relating to mail services, computer services, typing and filing, space allocation, personnel, property management, procurement, communications, building security, directives, forms and reports, library and files, office machine operations and related work for an office. Advised personnel of changes in administrative regulations and work processes related to a wide variety of administrative processes (i.e. travel, time and attendance records, procurement requests and payments); training administrative staff and guiding them through appropriate office procedures and personnel regulations.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
